Selected Players for the Final

There will be a special registration for the final at NICD - Polgolla on the 07th of December 2019 from 9.00 am onward.

National Youth Chess Championships 2019/ 2020 finals will be held from 27th to 30th December 2019. 

The deadline for the registration is 10th December 2019.

Kandy District Youth Chess Tournament - 2019/2020

The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka, organizing the National Youth Chess Championships cycle for the year of 2019/ 2020. This is the most prestigious Chess event for the youth chess players in the Kandy District and winners will be eligible to play the National Youth Chess Championships 2019/2020

AGE CATEGORIES

The event will be held as Under 07. 09. 11. 13. 15 and 17 years. Open and Girls separately.

REGULATIONS

The events will be held according to the Swiss System over 5 rounds. If the number of players exceeds 200 in an event. 6 rounds will be played.

ENTREE FEE

An entry fee of Rs. 750/= f will be charged for all age groups. The CFSL registration for the year 2020 will be given free of charge. The life members will get a discount of Rs. 250.00 AWARDS Winners will be awarded Gold. Silver and Bronze medals and certificates and a number of players to be qualified will be announced before the 1st round.

ELIGIBILITY

Those who are below the respective age group before the 1st of January 2019 are eligible to participate in the event Either players should permanently reside in the Kandy District or they should school in the Kandy District to participate in this event All champions of National Youth chess Championships last year, if they are playing in the same age category, qualify to play the National Youth Chess Championships 2018/19 directly. All players who played in the Sri Lanka National/ women's National ’A' or 'B' 2019 will receive direct entry to the Sri Lanka National Youth Chess Championships. All rated players get direct Entry in the age groups of under 7. 9 and 11.

Under 13. 15 and 17 age groups, only the players having more than 1200 rating are eligible for direct entry to finals. The players less than 1200 rating in Under 13. 15 and 17 age groups should play in district event to qualify for National Youth championships 2019/20.

REGISTRATION

The entries,  with the relevant entry fee, should reach or handed over to the organizing committee on or before the 18th of October 2019.
Special  Registration:  2:30 pm to 5.00pm on 18th October 2019 at Pilimathalawa Central College, Pilimathalwa.

Late Entry Fee:
 Those who register after 18th October, have to pay extra 100 rupees as later entry fees.
Please be kind enough to register early to avoid any inconvenience and we will not pay any special attention to those who fail to register on time.
