Tournament Details

This will start on, the 29th June 2019 at the Chess Federation Headquarters Nugegoda. The 12 qualified players from National B 2019 will compete with Isuru Alahakoon, the National Chess Champion and the highest rated Harshana Thilakaratne for this years crown. Unfortunately, the Women's National Chess Champion, Dinushki Premanath is not playing due to her academic commitments at the University of Moratuwa. So, 1st 14 players of the Women's National B Chess Championship will compete for the women's crown.

 

The Events will be held on 29th,, 30th, 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th of July 2019 at the CFSL HQ. with a prize fund of Rs. 320,000/=. 1st time the Champion will receive Rs. 100,000/= with Gold medal and the Trophy while Rs 60,000/= with Trophy and Gold Medal  Women's. Last year, The National Chess Champion was won by Isuru Alahakoon of SL Navy while Women's National Champion was Dinushki Premanath of University of Moratuwa.
