The Sri Lanka National Chess Championships Cycle 2022 (Open and Girls) - Chess Federation of Sri Lanka

With the Aim of Selecting National Chess Team for the Chess Olympiad 2022
This is the Golden Jubilee year for the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka. The Chess Federation is willing to provide a Souvenir for all participants of overboard Chess Events of CFSL.
The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka is willing to start the Sri Lanka National Chess Championship Cycle 2022 (Open and Girls) with the Sri Lanka National Novices Division (Open & Girls) Chess Championships on the 14th, 15th, and 16th of January 2022 in selected Districts / Provinces considering the situation.
The events will be held as Swiss system events of 5/6/7 rounds according to the number of participants in a weekend. Till 50 players, 5 rounds, till 100 players 6 rounds and over 100 players 7 rounds.
The event will be held in 12 Districts, Colombo, Kegalle, Gampaha, Kaluthara, Kandy, Galle, Matara, Rathnapura, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa Kurunegala, Uva, and Northern & Eastern. The venues will be published by the regional organizers as soon as possible.
Eligibility:
1. Players who played the Major Division at least once before cannot play the Novices Division events.
2. Any player who does not have a FIDE Classical Chess rating may play in the event.
Awards and Selection
Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded for the winners while the top 10 players are issued certificates for 1st 20 players. 1 certificate each will be given to every five additional players. The selection for the major division also will be done using the same criteria.
An entry fee of Rs. 1,000/= will be charged.
The Events will be organized according to the health guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports Medicine Institute of the Ministry of Sports. Especially, hand cleaning, and face masks, social distancing are compulsory. Parents can drop their children at the venue and come back for collection. Telephone facilities for players to contact parents are arranged.
Interested players may do the registration with local organizers.

4. Galle - Paramananda Vidyaya, Galle
5. Matara - St. Mary's Convent, Matara
6. Ratnapura - To be informed
7. Kegalle - To be informed
8. Batticaloa - St. Michael's College
9. Ampara - Ashraq National School, Nintavur
10. Anuradhapura - Golden Castle Chess Academy
11. Polonnaruwa - Girithalegama National School
12. Central Province (Kandy) - Gurudeniya Maha Vidyalaya - Gurudeniya
13. Northern Province (Jaffna) - Jaffna Hindu College
14. Wayamba Province (Kurunegala) - Ethugalpura Prince College
15. Uva Province (Badulla) - Kumaradasa Vidyalaya, Wellavaya.
