Inaugural Internet Base CFSL Chess Fiesta! 2020

Organized By Chess Federation of Sri Lanka

Inaugural Internet Base Chess Fiesta organized by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka
This is to inform you that the above event organized by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka was a great success. I hope this type of event was held for the first time in Chess as I know.
Unfortunately, some difficulties faced due to less knowledge of the participants and their response to emails. We also were in a high mind thinking that all players are used to the Swiss manager system and Chess-results.com performance. But, being an experimental event, both the organizers and the participant learn a lot of handling an event of this nature.
Though there are complaints about the usage of Chess programs, we have informed clearly that we do not mind it even all participants use any program due to these are experimental events and are arranged for players to enjoy Chess.
We are glad to inform you all that the winners are as given below:

  1. I think better to monitor through Zoom/any other video app while playing to make sure the regulations. But I'm not sure all the players are cabable to access video apps nowadays.

    2. So its better to name that tournament as chess engine+ human fiesta .Just a total waste of time.If you want to organize an experimental event like that, do it with proper rules and regulations.your organization just encourage players to cheat. If you check all the games carefully you can see that a famous player clearly cheated against kids. Those losses directly effects to the confidence of those kids and future of their chess career.I heard that some coaches and parents of these kids complained it to a chess.com and contacted chess.com staff members.According to a chess.com staffmember they use an algorithm to detect cheaters.According to him, because this is a classical event ,its very hard to blame someone as a cheater by just going through games. But he(staff memeber) also think that this player (famous player) used chess engine support to play games.
