This year a National team is organized for the World Youth Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships 2020. The National Youth Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship 2020 – Colombo, Gampaha, Kandy, Kurunegala, Galle Ratnapura. Anuradhapura and Jaffna Divisions will be held on the 25th and 26th of January 2020. Venues will be notified.

Event: 12 separate individual events as Under 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 years, Open and Girls.
The Under 18 Boys and Girls events will be held as direct finals. So, any under 18 player may directly play for the finals.
Time Control:
25th-Rapid -15 Minutes + 10 Second In.
26th -Blitz -3 Minutes + 2 Second In.
25th-Rapid -15 Minutes + 10 Second In.
26th -Blitz -3 Minutes + 2 Second In.
Eligibility: Those who fall into the respective age group on the 1st of January 2020 are eligible to participate in that age group. Rated players (Including rapid and Blitz Ratings) and the National Pool players, will get a direct entry for the finals. They are not allowed to play this event.
Registration: All those who are interested should register with their regional CFSL Officials or by sending an email to undersigned on or before 9.00 pm on 23rd January 2020. (eroshj@yahoo.com) or to the regional organizer.
All players who register via email will have to pay the entry fees before the end of the second round at the latest. The Players are expected to hand overpayments and not wait for the Arbiters to come asking for payments. Failure to do so will result in the name being excluded from the subsequent pairings. Arbiters have been instructed to strictly enforce this condition.
Entry Fee: Rs. 800/= for both events or Rs. 500/= per event. The players who do not have CFSL registration have to pay 1,000/= per one event and 1,600/= for Both. All those who have not registered with CFSL May contact 0713755348 - Niroshan. for CFSL Registration. All players who played in National Youth Chess Championships 2019 regional events are already registered with CFSL for this year.
Number of Rounds: Will vary on the number of participants from 5 to 7.
For 1st Place in the event of a tie with both players having Total possible points, a Playoff will be played before the other 4 tiebreakers are considered.
