National Major Division Men/Women Chess Championships -Kandy 2020.

Organized by Chess Federation of Sri Lanka

The Sri Lanka Major Division Chess Championships- Kandy Division Tournament will be held on 01st, 02nd and 04th February 2020.

Venue – NICD – Polgolla.

The players who have not paid the tournament entry fee (Majors) for the last year [ 2019] will not be registered.
Event will be held according to the FIDE rules and regulations as adopted by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka. Please ensure the entry fee is paid during the first round, those who have failed to fulfil complete the payment, will not be entitled for the second round.

 Entry Fees -- Rated Player – 1000 LKR   and   Unrated Player -  1500 LKR
The entry fee will be doubled for the players who have not registered with CFSL for 2020.

Schedule First round will start at 9.30 am – Saturday, 01st of February 2020.

Eligibility
Major Level - Men
1. All rated players below 2000
2. All players who have played Major Division event at least once
3. Players who qualified from the Sri Lanka National - Novices Division Chess Championships 2020, who have to play the same Major as the Novices zone they played from.             
*** Kandy [ Novices – Men, 2020] - The first 15 players can play the Kandy Major Division event.
Major Level - Women
1. All rated players below 1700
2. Players who qualified from the Sri Lanka National - Novices Division Chess Championship 2020, who have to play the same Major as the Novices zone they played from.
*** Kandy [ Novices – Women, 2020] - First 08 players can play the Kandy Major Division event.
Format
** If the total number of players is less than 100, there will be 07 rounds.
** If the total number of players are 100 – 200, there will be 08 rounds.

[If there is any change will be announced at the start of the event.]

Equipment: - Players are expected to bring their own chess boards and sets and if possible DGT Chess Clocks.
Appeals All Appeals and Protests should be submitted in writing.

** Players can register from 8.00 am - 8.40 am on 01st of February 2020.  Players who come after 8.40 am will be paired as manual entries.
