This is to inform you that the National Youth Chess Championship 2019 will be held at Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo 4 as scheduled on 27th, 28th, 29th, and 30th December 2019. We thank the principal of Visakha Vidyalaya for supporting our Chess Players.

The deadline for the registration is 17th December 2019.

The players of Under 13, 15 and 17 should report to the relevant arbiter on 27th at 8.00 a.m. and the players of under 9 years and 11 years should report on 27th at 9.30 a.m.

The Under 7 years Boys and Girls events will be started on 28th December 2019. The registration deadline is extended until 17th December 2019. The entry fee for official Rated players is Rs 1,000/= (Rs. 750/= + Registration Rs. 250/=). Any player failing to register before 17th December will not be paired for the 1st Round.

The winners will be awarded the title of National Chess Champion for the relevant age group. Gold Silver and Bronze Medals will be awarded for the top three players. A Digital Chess Clock will be awarded for the winner while the 2nd and the 3rd will be awarded a Chess Board. The Champion will receive the Championship Trophy.

It has become a great difficulty in finding good venues for Chess events due to the behavior of the participants and relatives. So, please keep in mind about the below condition to make this event a success:

1. All players are requested to attend at least 15 minutes before the Tournament hall.
2. Players should go out of the playing area after the game is over.
3. Only the players are allowed to the School area. Parents waiting area will be the School ground. Don't try to enter the playing area. If any parent tries to go in we will send the person back with the relevant child.
4. Big traveling Bags will not be allowed. If you bring food from outside, you are requested to bring back all the waste. There will be chairs available for parents, but do not keep bags on them.
5. We highly request you that only one parent should accompany the child. Since there is a limited facility for parents all are advised to leave the school as soon as a round is over.
6. The parking is available on the roads around the school. Please do not disturb the other vehicles and the residence when parking vehicles.
