Sri Lanka National B and Women's National Chess Championship will be held on
7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th, and 16th of June 2019 at Polymath International School, Nawinna, Maharagama.Register Before 5th of June 2019

This is to inform you that the most awaited event by the Sri Lankan top players, SL National B Chess Championship will be held on 7th, 8th, 9th 14th, 15th, and 16th June 2019 at Polymath International School, Nawinna, Maharagama. As you all know, the Chess Federation has to postpone the event from the scheduled dates and informed via the web communication that the event is scheduled whenever is possible. So, we apologize for the short notice given.

The IM/ WIMs and players having more than 2000 ratings, girls with more than 1700 ratings are directly qualified to the respective event. The players qualified from the Sri Lanka Major Division/ Women's qualifying Chess Championships 2019 held in all five centers are eligible to play in the relevant event.

The event is a 10 round Swiss System event. The schedule will be one round each on Fridays starting at 3.30 p.m. and two rounds each on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 9.00 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. An entry Fee Rs. 2,500/= per person is charged.

(Note- Cash awards will be shared in case of a tie. No certificates or awards will be given to the players who does not present at the Prize Distribution Ceremony.)

The two reigning National Chess Champions, FIDE Master Isuru Alahakoon and Women FIDE Master Dinushki Premanath and FIDE Master Harshana Thilakarathne (having more than 2400 ELO) are qualified directly to the National A Chess Championship 2019. So, the top 12 players from SL National B Chess Championship 2019 and top 13 players from the SL women’s National B Chess Championship 2019 will be selected to play in the most prestigious Sri Lanka National Chess Championship 2019. Registration can be done by sending the name, FIDE ID and the way of selection to cfslnew@gmail.com before 7.00 p.m. on 6th June 2019 and payment is possible on arrival.
